Andy also develops and markets new research and consulting products for the Firm. He earned his BA from Dartmouth College and his MBA from Columbia.
Ronald Balmer Ronald Balmer, Principal, is a recognized expert in the fields of Customer and Employee Loyalty. Ron has led customer and employee loyalty initiatives at dozens of organizations, including Federal Express, The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, Mars, Wachovia, Bank of America, Eastman, and MCI/Verizon. Prior to joining the Firm, Ron was a Managing Partner at The Gallup Organization.
James A. (Jay) Bennett Jr. James A. (Jay) Bennett Jr., Managing Director, consults with the Firm's investment banking, stockbrokerage, and equity derivatives practices in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Before joining the Firm in 1985, Jay was a strategy consultant for Mars & Co. and an assistant vice president for Manufacturers Hanover. Jay received his BA magna cum laude in political economics from Princeton and his MBA from Harvard.
Steven C. Busby Steven C. Busby, Senior Managing Director, is responsible for leading Greenwich Associates. Steve is also head of marketing and runs the firm's Custom Research and Consulting practice. Previously, he consulted with corporate finance clients in the United States and Europe. Steve received his BA in English Literature from Colgate University and his MBA from the Kellogg School Northwestern University.
John H. (Woody) Canaday John H. (Woody) Canaday, Managing Director, consults with foreign exchange, fixed-income, and derivatives dealers in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Before joining the Firm in 1985, he was an officer of J.P. Morgan, worked in project finance and private placements with Bourgeois Fils, and was a consultant with Bain & Co. Woody earned his BA in classics at Harvard and his MBA at Stanford.
Devereaux A.  Clifford Devereaux A. Clifford, Managing Director, consults with institutional investment managers and fixed-income dealers in the United States and Japan. Before joining the Firm in 1998, Dev was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, where he focused on financial institutions. Prior to that, he was in public finance at First Boston. Dev earned his BA at Northwestern, his MS and MPhil in chemistry at Yale, and his MBA at Kellogg.
John G.  Colon John G. Colon, Managing Director, consults with the Firm's investment banking and institutional stockbrokerage practices in the United States, Asia and Europe. Before joining the Firm in 1986, John was an analyst in the corporate finance department of Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb in New York. John received his BA magna cum laude from Dartmouth, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his MBA at Harvard.
Peter B. D'Amario Peter B. D'Amario, Managing Director, consults with the Firm's FX, derivatives, and fixed income clients in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Peter began his career at the Chase Manhattan Bank, after which he joined Goldman Sachs in treasury and fixed income in New York and London. Peter holds an AB from Brown University and an MBA from the Wharton School.
Charles D.  Ellis Charles D. Ellis, Senior Advisor, consults with investment managers and stockbrokers. Before founding the Firm in 1972, he was a partner of DLJ. Charley earned a BA at Yale, an MBA with distinction at Harvard Business School, and a PhD at New York University. He has taught the investment management courses at both Harvard Business School and Yale School of Management. He is the author of ten books.
Frank H. Feenstra Frank H. Feenstra, Managing Director, consults with the Firm's bond, foreign exchange, and derivatives clients. Before joining the Firm, Frank was with Alliance Consulting, Gruntal, and Pierson, Heldring & Pierson in the Netherlands. Frank earned his masters and bachelors' degrees in economics at the Vrije University, a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Amsterdam, and his MBA from the University of Chicago.
John Feng John Feng, Managing Director, consults with stockbrokerage and corporate finance clients. Prior to joining the Firm, John was an associate vice president at GE Capital and a consultant with McKinsey & Company's financial service practice. John received his BA magna cum laude from Lake Forest College and his Ph.D. in physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
David D.  Fox David D. Fox, Managing Director, consults with commercial banks and leads the Firm's global insurance industry practice where he works with with risk managers, carriers and brokers. David has been a partner at Greenwich Associates for 30+ years. Prior to joining the Firm, David specialized in strategic and organizational planning for the financial services industry at Booz, Allen & Hamilton. Earlier, he was an officer of First National Bank of Chicago. David earned his BS at the U.S. Naval Academy and his MBA at the University of Virginia. David serves on a number of corporate and not-for-profit Boards. He is a regular speaker at industry forums and has published a number of papers in his area of practice.
Peter B.  Garrison Peter B. Garrison, Managing Director, consults with leading domestic and foreign banks on corporate banking. Before joining the Firm, he was vice president of First National Bank of Chicago, where he served in the corporate banking department and was division head for the food and beverage industry. Pete received his BA at Union College and his MBA at Columbia.
Goran Hagegard Goran Hagegard, Principal, consults with investment managers and defined contribution plan providers in the United States and other markets on a range of marketing, sales, client service, and product issues. Prior to joining the Firm, Goran worked with Booz Allen Hamilton in New York and London and was the founder and CEO of Adacra, a management and technology consulting firm focused on financial services. Goran holds a MSc in industrial engineering and management from Linkoping University of Technology and an MBA with high distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was also elected a George F Baker Scholar.
Marc D. Harrison Marc D. Harrison, Vice President, is a consultant in Greenwich Associates' custom research practice. Prior to joining Greenwich in 2005, Marc worked for global research provider TNS. He was also head of custom research for Jupiter (now Forrester Research) in New York, and he worked in the fixed-income division at Morgan Stanley, predominantly with the High Yield research team. Marc earned a BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Marc Haynes Marc Haynes, Vice President, consults with investment management clients in the United States and Europe. Before joining the Firm, Marc headed up the life and pensions investment business at Friends Provident in London. Prior to that he worked at Schroder Investment Management. Marc earned his MA in international business (first class honours) at the University of Edinburgh.
Joseph R.  Herbert Joseph R. Herbert, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, was formerly vice president and general manager of Prentice Hall Legal & Financial Services; vice president of planning and development for Lone Star Industries; and held senior financial positions at Savin and Exxon Enterprises. Joe received a BA from Bloomfield College and an MBA in finance from St. John's University.
Peter Kane Peter Kane, Principal, specializes in custom projects for the firm in close cooperation with Greenwich Consultants. He has been involved in banking for most of his working life at Swiss and North American Banks covering retail, commercial, and corporate clients. Peter eventually moved into the wholesale capital markets where he managed teams trading and selling fixed income, foreign exchange, and derivatives to corporate and financial institutions across Europe and North America. Peter managed his own financial market research firm in London for five years prior to returning to North America and joining Greenwich Associates in 2003.
Andrew McCollum Andrew McCollum, Vice President, consults with investment managers in the United States and specializes in custom research-based consulting engagements. Before joining the Firm, he was a Managing Director at Chatham Partners where he was responsible for managing the company's research and consulting relationships. Prior to that, he worked in the Corporate Strategy Practice at the Corporate Executive Board. Andrew received his BA in Political Science from Cornell University and his MBA from Kellogg.
Christopher B.  McDonnell Christopher B. McDonnell, Vice President, consults with banking clients in the United States. Chris joined the Firm in 1997 as a Research Associate responsible for assisting in the collection and analyses of the research used by the Firm's corporate banking clients. Prior to re-joining the Firm in 2005, Chris was a founding member of a Manhattan-based digital communications company, Eureka Networks. He graduated from Notre Dame with a BA degree in English and History and received his MBA from Kellogg.
Christopher McNickle Christopher McNickle, CFA, Managing Director, consults with investment managers and defined contribution plan providers in the U.S., U.K. and Europe on a range of marketing, sales, client service, and product issues. During his 25-year career in financial services, Chris headed J.P. Morgan Investment Management's global business strategy department and was a senior executive at Prudential Retirement Services. He holds a Ph.D. in American History from the University of Chicago and a BA magna cum laude in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the CFA Institute. His articles and commentary have appeared in financial publications globally. Chris is also author of To Be Mayor of New York: Ethnic Politics in the City, and numerous articles on ethnic and New York City history and politics.
Tobias (Toby) Miarka Tobias (Toby) Miarka, Principal, consults with the Firm's investment management and corporate banking clients in the United States and Europe. Previously, he was a vice president at an M&A boutique and worked as an associate in the M&A department of Goldman Sachs in Frankfurt. He also worked as a research fellow at the Science Center Berlin on Bank-Firm Relationships. Toby holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Cologne and a Ph.D. in Economics from Humboldt University, Berlin.
Stephen Moylan Stephen Moylan, Vice President, consults with commercial banking clients on customer commitment and loyalty programs. He has executed a wide range of custom research projects, as well as, provided holistic approaches to performance management, including customer, employee and talent management solutions. Prior to joining the Firm in 2009, Stephen worked as vice president for TNS and Synovate and as a partner for the Gallup Organization. Stephen received his BA from the University of Nebraska.
Allan F.  Munro Allan F. Munro, Senior Advisor, consults on domestic and international banking in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Asia. Before joining the Firm in 1973, Allan was a vice president of J.P. Morgan. A graduate of Dartmouth, Allan served as a first lieutenant in the Army and graduated from the Credit and Financial Management School at Harvard.
Markus Ohlig Markus Ohlig, Managing Director, consults with the Firm's investment management and corporate banking clients throughout Europe and Asia. Formerly a consultant with McKinsey & Company, where he worked on corporate finance and strategy, Markus graduated from the Aachen University of Technology in Germany and received a masters degree in finance from the London Business School.
Donald M.  Raftery Donald M. Raftery, Managing Director, consults with banking clients in the United States. Before joining the Firm in 1996, Don was an officer at the Bank of Boston. He graduated from Dartmouth with a BA in economics and received his MBA from Kellogg.
William E. Russell IV William E. Russell IV, Vice President, Director of Research and Development, develops and implements multivariate statistical methodologies for the firm. Bill earned his Ph.D. in measurement and evaluation from Columbia University. He also holds a Master of Philosophy and Baccalaureates in Economics and Psychology. Bill is a member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda and Delta Kappa Epsilon honorary societies. He is also a member of MENSA, the American Educational Research Association, and the National Council of Measurement in Education.
James E. Sampel James E. Sampel, Managing Director Global Operations and Chief Information Officer, sets the strategic technology vision for the Firm as well as develops the strategic direction and efficient management of all aspects of the firm's global data collection, reporting and internal operations. Previous to joining the Firm in 2004, James was head of the 454 Life Sciences IT team and prior to that spent 15 years with the Applera Corporation. His work with these science and biotech firms includes software and firmware engineering, information technology, acquisition and divestitures, operational retooling, and the genome project. James holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering from DeVry University, TX and an MBA in Information Technology from PACE University, NY.
Timothy R.  Sangston Timothy R. Sangston, Managing Director, consults with clients in bond dealing and foreign exchange. Previously an associate in the fixed-income division of Goldman Sachs, Tim earned his BA magna cum laude in mathematical economics from Colgate, and an MBA (with distinction) from Harvard.
Abhi Shroff Abhi Shroff, Vice President, consults with the Firm's investment management clients. Abhi began his career as a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting delivering client solutions in the retail banking and investment management sectors within the Australasia region. Prior to joining the Firm, Abhi worked with UBS Investment Bank in London. Abhi earned his MBA (graduating with Distinction) from the London Business School and a Bachelor of Business (from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia).
Rodger F.  Smith Rodger F. Smith, Managing Director, consults with investment managers in North America and Europe and is responsible for the Competitive Challenges team. Before joining the Firm in 1976, Rodger was vice president of investments for Allis-Chalmers. He earned both his BS in chemical engineering (with high honors) and his MBA (with distinction) at the University of Wisconsin.
Robert C.  Statius-Muller Robert C. Statius-Muller, Managing Director of the London Office, consults with clients in the United Kingdom as well as on the European continent. He supports clients in strengthening their banking, debt capital markets, and trading businesses. Robert formerly a vice president of the Alcar Group prior to joining Greenwich Associates. He earned a degree in business administration at Nijenrode University, a BSc in civil engineering at the Hogere Technische School (both in The Netherlands), and his MBA from Kellogg.
Tomio Sumiyoshi Tomio Sumiyoshi, Managing Director, consults with investment management, corporate finance, fixed income, and brokerage clients in Japan. Tomio earned his BA and M.Phil from Sophia University (Japan) and a MA/EdM from Columbia. Tomio was a Lecturer at Columbia and worked at investment advisory boutique in NY before founding Paragate Consultants. Tomio has been Head of Greenwich Associates Japan since 1996.
Taeko Sumiyoshi Taeko Sumiyoshi, Managing Director, advises clients on investment management, corporate finance, fixed income, and brokerage in Japan. Taeko earned a BA from Sophia University (Japan) and a MA/EdM from Columbia. Before joining Greenwich Associates in 1996, she worked as Research Associate at the Center on Japanese Economy and Business, Columbia Business School and as an Asian Practice Consultant for the M&A team at Shearman and Sterling. In addition to her role at Greenwich Associates, Taeko is also co-founder, partner, and consultant of Paragate Consultants.
