The Greenwich Associates Quadrant Model
The Greenwich Associates quadrant model is designed to help a firm better
visualize how efficient and effective the use of resources are compared to other
managers. It marries asset managers' internal business metrics from Competitive
Challenges with qualitative evaluations from Greenwich Associates' research with
plan sponsors and investment consultants (for participating firms).
When these metrics and evaluations are plotted against one another the result
is a performance graph that can be broken into 4 groups: Masters, Achievers,
Under-achievers, and Drifters.

The plots chart resource usage (efficiency) on the X
axis against qualitative evaluations from clients and
prospects (effectiveness) on the Y axis. See where you stand compared to your
competition and then take appropriate actions to help catapult your firm to the
master level.

It is important to consider with senior management the development stage your
firm operates in currently, and what factors (both external and internal)
contribute to that status. Only then can we determine the relevance of our
external client data to your inputs from Competitive Challenges, and define a
timeframe with which management can measure progress.
