Veteran financial journalist and business leader will lead the expansion of the industry-leading research, data and analytics specialist.

September 14, 2026 — Crisil Coalition Greenwich, a leading provider of strategic benchmarking, analytics and insights to the financial services industry, today announced the appointment of Dan Barnes as Head of Europe, Market Structure & Technology. In this role, Barnes will lead European operations for the industry-leading institutional financial markets research, data and analytics team, which covers the impact of technology, regulatory and behavioral shifts on financial markets and market structure.

Barnes joins Crisil Coalition Greenwich from Markets Media, where he served most recently as Chief Executive Officer, Europe, leading all aspects of the global multimedia company’s European business and its coverage of institutional trading, investment and banking. An award-winning journalist whose career has spanned both editorial and senior business leadership roles, Barnes has set continually himself apart as an innovator. In addition to his role at Markets Media, Barnes was the co-founder of Trader TV and The DESK, two pioneering multimedia news outlets covering fixed-income trading for institutional investors. Earlier in his journalism career, Barnes was a contributor to leading financial news outlets, including Bloomberg, Financial News, Risk, The Banker, and several others.
